Les Savy Fav @ the Troubadour

I've seen Les Savy Fav in concert 3 times and this show (Nov 19th, 2003) was by far the best I've seen. The stage performances of Tim Harrington put the music of Les Savy Fav into the context in which it was created. He started the show clean and white and ended it covered in the sweat of the audience as well as his own. See pictures of the show here . The woman on the bass is from a band called "The Movies" which opened for Les Savy Fav that night. If anyone has any info about them let me know I haven't been able to find much of anything about them on the web.

Dan Bern @ The Knitting Factory

Dan Bern played a solo concert at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood Wednesday night. It was my first time seeing him live. Dan is a funny looking sort of guy with a voice that mimics almost any lyrical reference he makes. He poked fun at the Bu$h administration throughout the show pausing only to take well deserved jabs at Shaq, Kobe, California natural disaters, and the L.A. mentality. Hollywood Halloween

I went to the best Halloween party ever on Saturday. Technically I was working as an assitant to a photographer who has been shooting this party for several years. I took some pictures of my own as well as some strong vodka drinks. If the pictures get progressively worse then you know it must have been the alcohol.

The party is thrown every year by a special FX company in Los Angeles and most everyone at the party works in the industry. The costumes range from creatively funny to insanely complicated.
